Audiences in the South can’t get enough of Broadway musicals. "The Phantom of the Opera’s" 16-show run at Fox Theatre in Atlanta grossed $4,153,185. Broadway Across America brought Andrew Lloyd Webber’s haunting melodies to 58,145 people for $30 to $150 a ticket from Oct. 22-Nov. 2. Jam Theatricals brought the satirically catchy tunes of "The Book of Mormon" to 16,147 people at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, Va., over eight shows. With ticket prices ranging from $25 to $140, the Oct. 28-Nov. 2 run grossed $1,197,194. "Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella" didn’t miss the pumpkin coach with an eight-show run at Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami. Promoted in-house and by Broadway Across America, the Oct. 28-Nov. 2 performance grossed $954,270 thanks to a 14,277-attendance and tickets from $26 to $106.
After canceling the start of their six-stop Australian tour, the Rolling Stones did right by the people of Perth and added a show to their Perth Arena stop, performing on both Oct. 29 and Nov. 1 to a combined audience of 26,330 people. The Frontier Touring Company and AEG Live-promoted concert grossed $8,768,681 with tickets ranging from $85.83 to $503.26. The Rolling Stones next head to Allphones Arena in Sydney for a sold-out Nov. 12 show, then to Hope Estate in Hunter Valley on Nov. 15.
