"When we came here three years ago, we knew this was a place we wanted to stay for awhile," wrote Boone, whose wife, Kimberly, works with USC and SEVT (Sport, Entertainment & Venues Tomorrow). "While I didn’t anticipate moving from the private sector to Athletics, they have given me a great opportunity and one that I couldn’t pass on. We are both happy to remain a part of the Gamecock family."

Boone remains in his current role until the transition is made. He will then become senior assistant general manager, answering to Sid Kenyon, general manager.

Prior to his arrival in Columbia in December 2012, Boone was general manager of UCF Arena & The Venue at UCF, University of Central Florida, Orlando, from 2008-2012; and assistant general manager of Colonial Life Arena (he's a returnee), from 2006-2008, all with Global Spectrum.

A USC alumni, he began his carrer there with Global in 2003, before being moved to Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, in 2005.
