Doran Named CEO of San Diego Theatres

After a nationwide search of 150 potential candidates, San Diego Theatres, Inc., the nonprofit organization that runs the Civic Theatre and Balboa Theatre for the city of San Diego, has named Elizabeth Doran as the new CEO. Doran will be taking over for Donald Telford, who is retirng after serving as CEO of San Diego Theatres for nearly 40 years. Doran currently serves as executive director of the Pasadena Playhouse and will take over in May. She brings 20 years of executive experience in the arts to the role, having also previously worked at the La Jolla (Calif.) Playhouse. Telford will remain with San Diego Theatres through June to help with the transition.
