New GM for Lynnwood Convention Center

SMG has appointed Sara Blayne as general manager of the Lynnwood (Wash.) Convention Center. Blayne's appointment was effective Monday, April 20. She will direct all aspects of the convention center's operation and will work with the Lynnwood Public Facilities District, owner of the convention center, to provide direction to grow the success of the building. Previously, Blayne held the position of director of Sales and Marketing at the Lynnwood Convention Center and has spent 20 years in the hospitality and events industry. Before coming to Lynnwood Convention Center in 2014, Blayne worked as senior director of Event Planning and Support Services for Compass Group in Redmond, Wash.
