Ed Sheeran is presented with a gift before his sold-out show at Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario, by Wendell Reis, event manager, Brian Ohl, general manager, and Bethany Wood, Marketing coordinator.
English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran takes over Canada solely with his voice and guitar, performing his extensive tour without a band. Not that it seems to make a difference. His June 5 stop brought him to London, Ontario, for a sold-out show at Budweiser Gardens that grossed $548,914. The AEG Live and Messina Group-promoted show attracted over 9,000 fans, with a ticket price of $62.23. Sheeran’s mostly acoustic performance packed in a crowd of fans ready to sing along to all his hits, while he smartly mixed in covers of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” and Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good,” among others. After a June 9 stop at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, and a June 10 show at Denny Sanford Premier Center, Sioux Falls, S.D., Sheeran continues through Canada, starting at MTS Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, on June 12.
Herbert Gronemeyer, one of Germany’s most successful musicians with the country’s best-selling album in history, performed at O2 World Hamburg on May 16, bringing in 11,833 fans for the KPS Concertburo-promoted show. With ticket prices from $49.21 to $62.34, the show grossed $647,147. From there, Gronemeyer stopped at Hallenstadion, Zurich, on May 19 where he performed to 13,000 fans, grossing $1,219,385. Tickets ranged from $86.70 to $97.30 at the abc Productions show. The German musician can be seen next at the Waldbuhne in Berlin on June 12.
