While Janet Jackson and her Unbreakable World Tour are preparing to play for fans in Osaka, Japan, at Intex Osaka Nov. 19, the pop singer has topped our Hot Tickets chart this week with performances in Minneapolis and Chicago. The Live Nation-promoted tour stopped at Target Center, Minneapolis, to play to a crowd of nearly 9,000 fans. With ticket prices ranging from $18 to $123, the Nov. 1 show grossed $470,000 in ticket sales alone. Next, Jackson played three back-to-back sold-out nights at the Chicago Theatre, with 10,500 fans in attendance. Fans in Chicago were treated to an intimate setting with Jackson at the Career Retrospective- and in-house-promoted night. With ticket prices ranging from $47 to $197, the three nights grossed nearly $1.5 million.
The Weeknd is halfway through his first headlining North American arena tour, The Madness Fall Tour. On Nov. 12, he played to a sold-out crowd of more than 11,000 fans in Worcester, Mass. The Live Nation-promoted show at DCU Center grossed nearly $800,000 in ticket sales, with prices ranging from $28 to $88. The Weeknd is playing back-to-back nights in Brooklyn, N.Y. at Barclays Center on Nov. 18-19 before heading up to his home country of Canada.
