British alternative rockers, The 1975, top out the 5,000-10,000-seat capacity class this week on our Hot Tickets chart with a sold-out performance while in Australia. With more than 5,300 fans in attendance at Hordern Pavillion, Sydney, the Secret Sounds-promoted night grossed $255,000 in ticket sales. The 1975 are headed home with label mates The Japanese House for a headlining UK tour beginning March 4. It was announced this week that three additional shows have been added to accommodate the high demand from British fans.
Tool has a combined gross of $1.9 million from two sold-out shows ranking on the Hot Tickets chart this week. Starting on Jan. 20, 13,000 fans in Kansas City, Mo., packed into Sprint Center for the Jam Productions-promoted event with ticket prices ranging from $38 to $78. Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, Tenn., was also treated to a sold-out night with nearly 16,000 fans in attendance on Jan. 23. The Beaver Productions-promoted night saw tickets from $60 to $80. Tool wrapped up their 2016 US Tour on Jan. 31 in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Arena.
