After 33 PACnets, Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement founder, Jane Kleinberger, said the people are still her favorite part of the conference. More than just a trade show, she’s proud of the variety PACnet offers to clients as well as business partners.

“We’ve worked hard to build a community, and it’s not just a client conference and it’s not just a trade show,” said Kleinberger. “It’s truly a community where we’re able to bring together not only our clients, but our business partners who are critical to the success of what we’re able to deliver and what our clients are able to achieve.”

As each market segment is faced with unique challenges, from the proliferation of TV broadcasting in college athletics to attracting a wide range of demographics, Kleinberger looks at these as opportunities to innovate and deliver new and different technological support. One challenge PACnet ’16 focused on was event discovery.

“Event discovery is absolutely critical to continue to cultivate new buyers,” said Kleinberger. “We want to keep our long term fans and patrons, but there are far too many seats that go unsold from event to event. We call it event discovery but it’s really event advertising or information. The consumer can now discover the event through so many different channels than we used to have. Getting the information out there with our different partners really brings significant changes.”

Starting in the business back when it used manual systems and ticket racks, Kleinberger has experienced the slow metamorphosis to automation to where the company stands today with not only enabling a box office, but enabling an entire live event organization.

“Most excitedly, we put all that power into the hands of the fan and the patron,” said Kleinberger. “They are now able to manage their relationships with the organization. Where it’s now going is we’re going to use technologies to deliver an enhanced experience before, during and after an event.”

As the industry grows beyond simply a ticket transaction, Kleinberger said they will continue to look to deliver the live event experience through other means. The Spectra Ticketing community will continue to grow as well, as the company seeks to fulfill the needs of all the genres in a holistic way.

“We never lose sight of the fact that they’re trusting us with their business, so we better keep delivering,” said Kleinberger.
