Before Kendrick Lamar collaborated with ESPN for “Fade to Black,” the Kobe Bryant tribute track, the Compton, Calif. native headed down to Sydney for a set at Qudos Bank Arena on March 23. The Live Nation-promoted show grossed over $1.5 million in ticket sales, the prices of which ranged from $75.22 to $105.33. Almost 17,000 fans attended the show, which was his second arena show before headlining at the Byron Bay Bluefest. Coming up, Lamar will head to Europe for a few dates, starting with a July 2 stop at Hyde Park, London, for the British Summertime festival.
Adele started her seven-show residency at The O2 Arena, London, March 15 with a sold-out performance to over 15,000 fans. Tickets started at $49.54 and went up to $134.46, with the ITB-promoted show grossing over $1.7 million for one night of ticket sales. Adele continues the European leg of her tour, following the release of third album, “25,” with a stop at Tele2 Arena, Stockholm, Sweden, on April 29, The chart-topping singer will hop over to North America this summer, starting with a two-show stop at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. in July.
