Jorge Melendez has been brought into AEG Live, a wholly owned division of AEG, as chief financial officer, bringing with him an extensive career on the financial side of the music industry. Melendez will work under Jay Marciano, chairman and CEO of AEG Live in this role, where he will manage financial operations, including regional finance teams, financial governance and risk management across its touring, festival and venue operations. He replaces Rick Webking, who previously held the post.
Melendez previously worked for nine years as CFO of Touring and the Global Artist Rights for Live Nation, where he oversaw the overall business unit's profit and loss, while also coordinating worldwide touring activities and empowering operational efficiency. Melendez also worked as the executive vice president and CFO for EMI’s Latin America Business, spent 17 years at Sony Music International and served as executive vice president of Sony Discos, the company’s U.S. Latin Label.
He began his career as a senior auditor for Arthur Anderson. Melendez earned an accounting degree from LIU Post.
