Andy Gorchov has been hired by SMG to be the general manager of the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. Gorchov was most recently project director for the ICON Venue Group. Gorchov was also responsible for the 1060 Renovation Project of Wrigley Field, the 100-year-old home of the Chicago Cubs. Before ICON Venue Group, he was general manager of Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium, Denver. Prior to that he was the director of event operations and then director of stadium operations.
Gorchov attended the University of Pittsburgh College of Arts & Sciences, and received his bachelor of arts degree in 1995. Shortly thereafter he started his career as the assistant operations manager at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh.
University of Phoenix Stadium is home to the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals and the annual Fiesta Bowl.
