Norbert (Norb) J. Bartosik has joined Ralph Andersen & Associates as a senior consultant working on special projects and recruitment assignments for clients in the event and fair industries. He will work from his home and out of Ralph Andersen & Associates offices near Sacramento. He is also currently secretary of the Mid-West Fairs Association.
Bartosik is the former CEO of the California Exposition & State Fair, Sacramento, and the Orange County Fair, Costa Mesa, Calif., and Antelope Valley Fair, Lancaster, Calif. He was also president & general manager of the Du Quoin (Ill.) State Fair. With more than 42 years of fair industry experience, he brings a significant background in fair and event management, both from the private and public sector.
Prior to joining the Ralph Andersen & Associates network of professionals, Bartosik oversaw the California Exposition & State Fair (Cal Expo), on behalf of the State of California for 19 years and doubled its operating budget to $32 million. Prior to that he oversaw the Orange County Fair & Exposition Center where he doubled both the attendance and operating budget over his 10-year tenure.
He has served as president of the Board of Directors of the Western Fairs Association (WFA), International Association of Fairs & Expositions (IAFE), California Authority of Racing Fairs and the Mid-West Fairs Association. He has been honored by being named a member of the Hall of Fame for both WFA and the IAFE, and earned the Venues Today Hall of Headlines Award for Excellence in Concessions in 2010. He was also selected as a member of the Southern Illinois University, College of Business Alumni Hall of Fame.
