Walking With Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular wrapped eight shows at Bell Centre in Montreal, Aug. 13-18, that grossed nearly $1 million. The run was promoted by evenko as well as NewSpace Entertainment. The show itself originated in Australia, premiering at Sydney's Allphones Arena in 2007. In its first four years, Walking With Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular played 1,746 dates in 206 cities around the world to more than 7.3 million people. It is presented by Global Creatures in association with BBC Worldwide, with the North American tour supported by MagicSpace Entertainment. Next, Walking With Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular kicks off eight performances at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., Sept. 3, with tickets ranging $22.50-$79.50. The tour will then head to Staples Center in Los Angeles, Sept. 11-14, before returning to Canada with shows at Save On Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, B.C., Sept. 18-21, and Rexall Place in Edmonton, Ont., Sept. 24-28. The tour is scheduled to wrap Jan. 11 at Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City.
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers are on tour in support of their July 29 release of "Hypnotic Eye," the group's first new studio album in four years. The tour kicked off Aug. 3 at Viejas Arena in San Diego, Calif., heading to Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Idaho, Aug. 5. The Aug. 23 date at United Center in Chicago grossed more than $1.4 million. Tickets for the Jam Productions-promoted date ranged from about $52-$136. The tour will wind through North America, with stops at Fenway Park in Boston, Aug. 30; Madison Square Garden in New York, Sept. 10; BOK Center in Tulsa, Sept. 28; and Honda Center, Oct. 7, before wrapping Oct. 10 at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
