The symmetry between the existing Sioux Falls Convention Center, arena and new Denny Sanford Premier Center extends to the foodservice program. Ovations Food Services is the food and beverage management company for all three venues.
The convention center’s kitchen also services the Sanford Center, which will include 85 to 90 points of sale. This incorporates multiple stands, supplemented with specialty carts.
“The new center will offer a larger variety of food than is currently available at the arena, with regional and local items prepared fresh at each concession stand,” said Chad Stoner, Ovations’ general manager.
Menu items include Philly cheesesteak, barbecue nachos, smoked brisket and South Dakota specialty chislic, deep fried cubed beef eaten either on a skewer or with toothpicks. There also are multiple stands offering gourmet burgers, such as a waffle burger topped with bacon, cheese and a waffle bun that is served with a choice of either maple or Jack Daniels-infused syrup. Healthier options, such as salads, wraps, sliced fruit with yogurt dip and cheese and crackers, are available, as well.
A permanent pizza concessions stand is run by Papa John’s, one of Sanford Center’s sponsors. The suite level includes the McNally’s Irish Pub buffet area. Catering and in-seat foodservice also will be available.
In addition to more than 165 craft beer taps, the Sanford Center will offer iced coffee at five concessions stands.
